Happy Birthday!

Double the chin, double the fun...that's our motto!

Happy Birthday Charles and Happy 3 month Lucy! Although separated by a few years, Lucy and her dad both sport relatively the same hairstyle.

Good Friends

With Charles working it gets kind of lonely around here, so it is nice when I have some visitors. April and Alisha have been such good friends to me. They come see me and Lucy whenever they get the chance, and I so appreciate and look forward to their visits. Ted appreciates their visits as well, if that wasn't apparent enough... This last visit they brought Sarah with them along with takeout from Panda Express (yummy!). It was so much fun, even though Lucy doesn't look very happy in the pictures.
(Charles) If it gets too lonely, there is a vacuum cleaner and dust rag in the closet that can keep you company....the more you use them, the better the chance that they will come to life - kinda like the movie Beauty and the Beast - but so far I haven't heard a peep.
Just kidding

Grandparents

Lucy displaying her already abundant fondness for Star Trek (live long and prosper)...however, her Vulcan language skills could use some work.

We don't post enough pictures of Lucy with her Papa Walter and Grandma Boo and Grandma Penn and Great-Grandma Maly, so here they are. She loves spending time with them as well as with her cousins Maly, Alison, and Tiona.

summer in fall, big girl jacket, play friends, and a visit with great Auntie Norma and Uncle Ralph

Who me? (by the way, the camera adds ten pounds...mostly in the face - her dad experiences the same problems with cameras...which is why they can't be trusted)

Those legs are in there somewhere.

The weather in Kansas City has been crazy. 70s and 80s one week and 40s and 50s the next. This past Tuesday was super warm so we took advantage of it and wore a short sleeve shirt. It has the cutest butterfly collar and racerback (that you can't see). When she's sitting up she loves to play with her pant legs. She almost looks like she is doing a curtsy in the last picture. What a little lady!

On cooler days Lucy likes to chill in her denim jacket. She thinks it's pretty cool.

Preston, Lucy, Mallory

Lucy is my friend! Mine!

Wednesday in BFSG we let the babies play on their blankets. They're not quite big enough to move around so they end up staring at each other or sleeping. You can see which one Lucy opts for. That last picture was posed, but it was still cute considering they are boyfriend/girlfriend.

(Charles) - Too bad he will have to wait 18 more years to ask her out on a date.

Uncle Ralph, Auntie Norma, and Lucy. Little does Lucy know that she is in the presence of greatness. There are a few people in each family that really hold it together...my Auntie is one of them - she has always looked out for everybody and gone out of her way for family. Lucy would not have the dad she has today without them.

My what pretty nails you have!

Auntie has just the right touch.

Here is my Uncle Ralph telling Lucy about all of the fish he caught up at the lake....she is too young for me to let her know they are mostly falsehoods - but good stories anyway.

Auntie and Uncle Ralph live in Minnesota so we don't get to see them often enough. This was their first time meeting Lucy and I have to say I think that it went well. Lucy seemed very impressed. She really enjoyed their visit and wished that they could have stayed longer.

First Halloween

Winnie the Pooh
We weren't quite able to zip the costume up all the way...a little too much chin.

Me and my girl.

Lucy's first Halloween was completely uneventful. At 5:30Pm yesterday mom and dad made an emergency trip to Target to purchase Halloween candy. We got home and waited for the trick or treaters to make their way to our house. Guess how many trick or treaters we had? Absolutey NONE! I couldn't believe it. Now we have a gi-normous bowl of chocolate candy and no one to eat it. Happy Halloween.

Today Lucy and her pals in BFSG dressed up for our Fall Festival/Costume Party and boy were they cute. Preston was a Pea in the Pod with mom Jen, Rhyn was a very sleepy Pumpkin with mom Allison, Lucy was Winnie the Pooh, and Ethan was the Hulk with mom Lacey.
