Inebriated Baby, Friends, More Milestones, Mother's Day, Bathtime Baby

Lucy never fails to humor me. Here she is in her usual drunken state. She looks like she just left a college kegger. How she manages to get through her day without tipping people off? Two words: functional drunk...

Monday we were lucky enough to have lunch with a friend from school. Amanda is not only a great friend, but also a super-mom to three young boys. And goes to school AND works, I'm in awe of how she does it all. We had a great time and can't wait to see her again.

My first official Mother's Day to a human (not dog) was wonderful. Lucy and Ted bought me a pair of wedges I had been eyeballing. We went to church and spent the afternoon with the Smiths. Then we came home, took a long walk and watched all of the shows we had DVRed. It was a great day. Lucy also decided that she would surprise me by nearly crawling/lunging off the bed. She's not quite mastered that skill yet, and hasn't done it since. It was only a few days ago she started pushing that big upper body of hers up, and it was also at that time she started lunging for things. She's turned into the spawn of Evil Knievel.

We saw Mallory and Emily this afternoon, and Mallory took her first steps... on her first birthday! She is such a big girl now. I was talking to Lucy about it when we got home, and not to be outdone, she decided today was the day she would start pulling up on furniture. What am I going to do now? I suppose it's time to baby-proof the house.

I decided to throw in some bathtime pictures. No reason in particular except nekkie babies are soooo cute! She loves her baths and showers. She especially loves splashing Mom. That's what she's contemplating in the first picture.

No News is Good News

Nothing new for us to write about. Lucy and I spent the majority of the last week at Adam and Vadsana's house, just hanging out with the new baby. A person almost forgets how much a newborn sleeps. I didn't have my camera on me, so no new pics of the bambino. You'll have to settle for these pictures of Lucy. We just snapped them this afternoon when I realized it's been a week since our last post.

We're pretty lucky as Lucy is very, very easily entertained. We fill a small basket with odds and ends, Balmex, a baby brush, spiky massage balls, socks, old magazines, photos, remotes, etc. Lucy's favorite game is to either take each item out individually or dump the whole basket until she finds what she wants. When she finds that special "something", she proceeds to either stick it in her mouth or wave it around in the air. Here she is finding a treasure, aka a sock.

The next series of pictures are of Lucy goofing around. She's too silly. Oh, have you noticed that little miss is wearing a bow in her hair? It's growing in much thicker, and as her dad was just observing this morning, it is quite a pretty shade of auburn. I don't think you can really see all of the red highlights in these pictures. Man, it's too bad I have to pay someone way too much money to get mine close to that same shade : (

Can you believe what you are seeing? This was Lucy's second nap today, albeit a ten minute one. She must have worn herself out posing for the camera. A supermodel's work is never done...
